Grade 5/6 English - Music and Technology

Today in class, we listened to several versions of Outkast's "Hey Ya". In addition to the original radio edit, we listened to:
  1. The MIDI version
  2. The We Will Rock You mashup version
  3. The lounge version
  4. The acoustic version

Each of these versions used the same basic melody, but they were each very different in mood, tempo, instrumentation, and dynamics.

Pick one of the four alternate versions of "Hey Ya". Using your best descriptive language, respond to this post, explaining how it was unique from the original radio edit. (Hint: Level 4 answers will compare the mood, tempo, instrumentation, and dynamics of the original radio edit and another version).

I like the Mash up version with Queen. I like it because the Mood is more exciting than the original. The Mash up one makes me feel powerful. I think that the tempo of the Mash up version is fast and so is the original, but I still like the mash up one better. Both the Mash up and the original have drums, guitar and piano. The dynamics of both of the songs were loud, but the Mash up version is louder.

The original "Hey Ya" and the acoustic version is the two that I'm going to compare.

Mood: When I first listened to it I felt calm, relaxed, happy, and I can sing along to it because it isn't that fast. The original one was carzy, excited, and made me feel like moving, which by the way isn't good since I was at school and my teachers won't like me to move well they are still teaching!
Tempo: The acoustic is slower then the original version by maybe a half. Even the instruments play slower in the acoustic then the original.
Instrumentation: In the acoustic version there is a Guitar and voices. but in the original version
there's drums, keyboard, voices, bass, and guitars.
